Your car's electronic control unit has the ability to decrease or increase the injection times sent to the injectors, but with a maximum and minimum tolerance that is suitable for operation with super unleaded fuel.
The problem is that if you use ethanol without a conversion kit, the lambda sensor will tell the electronic computer that the air/fuel mixture coming out of the exhaust is too lean, the computer will increase its injection times but it will quickly reach its maximum tolerance and will eventually go into limp mode and light up the "fault" warning light on the dashboard because of a mixture that is too lean.
Our ethanol conversion kit will provide additional injection time to the injectors, which will allow your engine's electronic control unit to correctly correct its injection without ever reaching its maximum tolerance for which it was programmed, allowing it to function as usual.
Conversely, if you switch to premium unleaded fuel, increasing the injection time by 15% using an ethanol conversion kit, the lambda sensor will indicate a rich mixture to the engine control unit (ECU). The ECU will then reduce its injection times by 15% compared to its usual operation with unleaded fuel, without reaching its minimum tolerance. This allows it to compensate for the enrichment introduced by the ethanol conversion kit to provide an optimal mixture (ratio). In this way, your engine will run optimally, regardless of the ethanol and/or unleaded fuel mixture in the tank.
Info: It is your exhaust regulating probe (lambda probe) that regulates the fuel mixture through an oscillation which allows the engine computer to know if what comes out of the exhaust is too rich or lean and will correct its injection times accordingly.
Cold start: a temperature sensor is integrated into the housing, and depending on a set of parameters (outside temperature, last start, last operating time, etc.) the housing will modify the starter accordingly.
The advantages of the Starflex case
Firstly, this case has proven itself for over 10 years and we have recently improved the electronic components and modified the printed circuit board.
Excellent starting performance in winter temperatures thanks to its integrated temperature sensor. For some engines that experience cold start problems, you can install an optional temperature sensor that allows the engine control unit (ECU) to receive a significantly lower temperature reading below 20°C and then correct the reading above that temperature. Various connector models are available, including a universal version if none of them fit your vehicle.
